How to get your kids to enjoy their own backyard after the summer drought
Slate Canyon Trail in southwest Colorado features a paved dirt trail that offers an escape from the heat and humidity of the urban landscape.
The trail, a favorite with kids, was featured in a story about how parents and kids can enjoy the outdoors.
“The best thing is to put your kids on the trails and just go and have fun,” Slate Canyon owner Tom Slater said.
“That’s what it’s all about.
You’re not doing anything special, just enjoying the outdoors.”
