How to Use a Slate Backplash to Make a Slate Bed in One Hour
Slate beds are a common and very cheap way to get a more durable floor, especially in the home or office.
Slate beds have a smooth, flat surface that provides support and warmth to the body, which is what you want.
But they also can add some weight and make them more expensive, making them hard to find and pricey.
But you can buy them for cheap, and they are easy to make and can be used to make a variety of bed designs.
Here are the basic steps to making a Slate bed.
Use a Tile and the Spindle to Cut the Slate Backplate and Bed Side Slabs 1.
Cut the slate backplate and the slats for your bed.
I used a router and a pair of scissors to cut the slate plate and the bed slats to size.
You can also cut them to fit the width of your mattress.
Cut a line that goes from the bottom of the slab to the top of the bed.
Place a sheet of tile on the top edge of the slate to hold it in place.
Cut two or three long, parallel strips of slate in a row to make the bed and slats.
Make sure the slate backsprings are spaced to give the bed a smooth look and feel.
Drill holes through the slate and bed slates so you can insert your bed or mattress underneath.
Thread the sheets into the holes and secure them with the tiles.
Secure the sheets to the backplate with the backslash.
Secure your mattress with the mattress slats, and then slide the mattress onto the bed to lay the sheets on top of it.
Repeat the process for all the slates you plan to use.
Use the router to cut two or more long strips of the slat side to form the bed side slats and the mattress side slat.
Cut three strips of slat to fit your mattress width.
You may also want to cut a diagonal strip for the bottom and a side slant to fit on top.
Thread all of the sheets back into the mattress so you have room for your mattress, mattress slat, and mattress.
Lay the sheets side-by-side and secure with the sheet slats using the slashes.
Cut another strip of slats so you could lay your mattress on top and put your slats on top as well.
Secure all of your slates to the mattress using the mattress and mattress slates.
Place the bed on top using the sheet-slats and mattress-slates.
Slide the mattress into place using the pillow slats underneath.
Slide your mattress onto your mattress by using the sheets, and the sheets slide into place to help your mattress support your mattress and bed.
Slide a second pillow over the top to help you keep your bed warm.
This process is repeated for all your beds.
Slide all of these slats into place and secure the mattress by inserting the mattress.
Lay your mattress back down using the two sheets, sheets slats over the mattress, and slat slats under.
Make a bed to help with the cost and effort.
Lay another sheet of slates over the bed so you’re ready to lay your sheets ontop.
Place your mattress at the end of your bed and slide the slatted sheets into place so you don’t have to move the mattress around or move the sheets over.
Repeat for all slates and bed sheets you plan on using.
