What you need to know about slater’s funeral home
Slater’s Funeral Home is in Orlando, Florida, about 70 miles southwest of the city.
It is the second-oldest in the country, according to The Associated Press.
The former owner, Roger Slater, died of cancer in August.
Slater was a longtime Republican donor who donated to GOP candidates, including former Florida Gov.
Charlie Crist and Donald Trump.
His son Roger Jr. has said he believes his father died from cancer.
He built the Funeral Chapel in Orlando after he sold the funeral home in 1997, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
The building has a small garden, an elevator and a video camera, according.
It features a casket and a silver urn, according the Orlando Daily News.
“This place has been the place where the family can have its last meal, and the place that you can pray for the family,” Slater said in a 2011 interview with the newspaper.
