Why Kelly Slater and Jenny Slate have a good relationship
Slate is back in business, after nearly a decade of relative obscurity.
After the company was bought out by Time Warner in 2017, Slate launched a new, larger TV channel, but it has remained a staple on cable, and it remains a profitable one.
It’s also been the subject of much debate, including by the New York Times.
The Times article, headlined, “Kelly Slater and the News,” detailed the way the TV news network was run during the 2016 election, when Slate was one of the most-watched TV shows on cable.
The article said that the network used paid staff, which included a senior editor, to promote its own political agendas, while also distancing itself from political viewpoints.
The paper also said that Slate’s editors regularly used their platforms to promote their own political views.
A few months after the Times article was published, Slate’s CEO announced that he had quit the company.
The Wall Street Journal article, titled, “Killer, killer, killer,” detailed some of the issues that have arisen from the Times’ article.
The story said that one of Slate’s executives, Emily Kaplan, had been caught using a personal Twitter account to promote her book, which Slate owned at the time.
Kaplan said in a statement that she was fired by Slate after the NYT article was posted.
Slate has been a key figure in the fight over political neutrality, which has become a major issue for the Trump administration.
In January, Trump and Vice President Mike Pence issued a memorandum instructing the Federal Communications Commission to begin a review of the rules that govern broadcast and cable news channels.
Slate and others argued that the Trump White House has unfairly targeted them as part of an effort to shut down news outlets that criticize the president.
Earlier this year, Slate sued the Trump Administration to block Trump from appointing a former president to a position on the Federal Communication Commission.
That case is ongoing.
Slate also filed a lawsuit in 2017 in California over Trump’s attempt to cut off federal funding for a nonprofit organization that advocates for political speech.
